Well, his money could be your right, you k2022-09-19 (月) 23:56:03 I don’t know if you’ve written this in terms of a long term, committed relationship, but there are certain living arrangements that people could choose whereby the man earns and the woman looks after the home-front. It would obviously be unreasonable to demand a woman be self reliant in terms of her finances, when she’s sacrificing her career to stay home and be a full time wife/mother/homemaker.
This doesn’t necessary mean a joint account is a must – but the dude has a responsibility to top up his wife’s account regularly. In such scenarios, his money (or access to a sizeable portion of it) is most certainly her right.

agreed. was going to say something similar, couldn’t find the words. it’s hard to think of a man’s money as your “right,” but if you’re staying home, caring for children, and providing a pleasant home life for him, he has a responsibility to take care of you that way. but i am not sure how common this model is, or will be in the future, in western societies.

If you can trust your partner to spend your money wisely, that’s really such a huge load off the stress factor in any long term relationship. Conversely, if you can’t trust your partner in this way, then its probably a good indicator of your long term priorities being out of whack, and relationship FAIL.
